About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Dreamcatcher” from
This beautiful tube can be purchased at

The kit is “Indian Makoi” from
Bella Caribeña.
This is a really lovely kit that I really enjoyed working with
and can be purchased at

You will need mask 1 from set 86 by

For the animation you will need Animation Shop
and the free Fire Animation 301 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 8 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask, resize it 90% and move up a bit.

Paste mask 2 from the kit, resize 80% and move into place.

Paste element  72,  resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  44, resize 80% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  17, resize 75% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  107, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  110, resize 55% and flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  113,  resize 50% and rotate 90 degrees to the right.  Select the interior of the element with you magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 8 into the selection, deselect, apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into place.

Paste element  64, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  146, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  26,  resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Paste element  77, resize 40%, position below the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  83, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  54,  resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  42,  resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  147, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  150, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  12, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  56, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  46, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  108, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  76 on the top,  resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  22, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  44 again, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  21, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  70, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now, make any adjustments and add your copyright information and text.

ANIMATION:

Starting at the top, close off all your layers on the tag down to but not including the fire and merge visible. Close off that merged layer, open the previously closed layers and again merge visible.

Open Simone's animation in Animation Shop, you will see it has 21 frames.  Go to Animation - Resize Animation and resize it by 60%.

Copy the bottom merged layer on your tag, paste it in Animation Shop and duplicate it until there are 21 frames the same as the fire.  Select all the fire frames, click on the tag frames, select them all, right click and paste the fire onto the tag frames.  Back in PSP, copy the top merged layer, paste it as a new animation, duplicate it as before, select all the frames and again paste on the tag.

Run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
