About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “White Elf 2” from
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “Cashmere Christmas” from
and can be purchased at

You will need mask 39 from

You will need Animation Shop and my snow animation

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 55, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with  white.

Paste the mask and resize it 19%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer, paste paper 7 into the selection, deselect and delete the original mask layer.

Paste element 179, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 178, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 116, resize 50% and move into place.

Paste element 105, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 114, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 83, resize 40% and duplicate, position below the trees and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 79, resize 20%, position above the fence and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 155, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 177, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 159, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 192, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 80 above the tube, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 119, resize 50% and move into place.

Paste element 140, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 130, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 115, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 52, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 66, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 84, resize 17%, duplicate, mirror one copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 72, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments I stretched the mask a little longer), then crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.

Starting at the top, close off all layers down to and including the tube and merge visible, close this merged layer, open the others and again merge visible.  Open the snow animation in Animation shop and resize it 90% (Animation – resize animation).  Copy the bottom merged layer and paste in Animation shop “As a new animation” and duplicate it 10 times so it has the same number of frames as the snow, select all the snow frames, copy them and paste on the left side of the merged layer, don’t go past the white tree.  Copy the top merged layer, paste in Animation shop as before, again duplicate it, select all the frames and paste on top of your animation tag.  When you are done, run the tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
