About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “My Silk Hose”
from the latest pack 95 by
You can purchase the tube from

The kit was inspired by the Jessica Dougherty tube 53-1 from
and can be purchased at

You will need mask 162 by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask, resize it 90% and duplicate it, position one copy top right and the other copy bottom left.

Paste the main tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 3 and resize it 50%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste 2 into the selection, paste the close up tube, invert the selection, hit delete on the tube and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the tube and then change the blend mode to “Hard Light”.    Close off the white background, two mask layers and the tube and merge visible.  Now repeat the above but with the frame resized at 40% mirrored and the close up tube resized 90% and mirrored.   Open the closed layers, drag the two merged frames below the main tube and move into place.

Paste element 24, resize 55%, position on the left above the larger merged frame, duplicate, position this copy on the right below the smaller merged frame, duplicate again, mirror this copy and position top right below the larger merged frame, duplicate the original again, mirror and flip this one and position below the smaller merged frame.  Apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste element 8, resize 55%, duplicate, flip one copy and position below the larger merged frame on the left, mirror the second and position below the smaller merged frame on the right.   Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 20, resize 70%, drag below all the flower layers, and duplicate twice, position one copy on the right, mirror the other two copies and position one on the left and the other at the top, erase the stalks that show at the bottom of the two side copies and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 23, resize 60% and position just below the tube on either side.

Paste element 1, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 28%, duplicate twice and mirror the copies, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6, resize 30%, duplicate and mirror the copy, position the original below the smaller merged frame on the right and the copy below the tube on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 21, resize 50%, duplicate and mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22 on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 20%, duplicate, mirror one copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 11, resize 35%, rotate 90 degrees to the right and mirror, drag right down to just above the masks, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
