About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful tube “Cinderella” from
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “Hot Night in the City” from
This kit has a lot of elements to give you different styles of tags
and can be purchased at

You will need the mask from the pack “Spring, Love and Others” by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 45, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 40%.  Make a new layer, select all and paste paper 16 into the selection, go back to the mask and float and defloat it, invert the selection and hit delete on the paper, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.  Duplicate the mask, mirror the origonal and move it down and to the left a little and move the copy higher and to the right.

Paste element 76, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 4, resize 27% and rotate 10 degrees to the left.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste paper 16 into the selection.   Paste the full size tube, resize 75%, position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete on the tube and deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 113, resize 30% and position in the middle behind the frame layers.  Duplicate, resize the copy 90% and duplicate it again, position on either side and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 75, resize 13%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 83 on the top, resize 55%, duplicate, resize the copy another 90% and flip it, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the tube again, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 30%, position behind the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 112, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 104, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 103, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 49, resize 5%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 130, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 95, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 97, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 99, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 92, resize 10% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30 on the top, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 70, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 10%, duplicate and mirror one copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 4, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.  I used my eraser on a large size with low opacity to blend the castle staircase into the mask.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
