About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Romantic Date” from
You can purchase this gorgeous tube from

The kit is “Blushing Bad Girl” from
This is a great kit and you will find it at

You will need my mask

Font of choice.

You will need Animation Shop for the animation.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 26 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask, resize it 95%, duplicate it and merge the copy down onto the original.

Paste frame 13, resize 35%, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 7, make new layer below the frame and fill with black, mirror the tube and paste it as a new layer, position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete on the tube and deselect, change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance (Legacy)” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Un-mirror the tube and paste it again, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I recoloured her dress black.

Paste element 138, resize 50%, recolour black, position below the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 96, resize 35%, position above the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 94b, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 82, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 98 on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 55, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 104, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 93, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 53, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 139, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 116, resize 20%, recolour all black, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 10% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 79, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any adustments.

Go back to the keyboard, draw a rectangular selection similar to my screen shot below making sure the feather is set to 0, hit delete, deselect, right click anywhere on the canvas and “Paste as a new layer”, to get the part you cut off back, drag this part below the tube and put back in position.

Back on the large part of the keyboard, open your eraser, set the size to 100 and the opacity to around 30 and dab around the hard edges  at each end to blend into the background.

Now crop your tag, add your copyright information and text.

Go back to the lamp post,  duplicate it and close off the original.  Open your Lighten/Darken brush, set to the size to 30 and left click a few times on the lamp part to lighten it.

Right click on, tag and “Copy merged” and past in Animatiion Shop “As a new animation”.  Back in Paint Shop, close off the copy of the lamp post and open the original, copy as before an paste in Animation Shop “Before Current Frame”.    On each frame, go to Animation – Frame Properties and change the speed to 40.  Run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
