About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous art of

This is a really fabulous freebie kit!

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0,  horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 15.

Open  a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Paste backdrop E1, resize 90% and rotate 90 degrees to the right.  Select all, float and defloat the backdrop, make a new layer, open paper 1, mirror it and then it into the selection, deselect and delete the original backdrop layer.

Paste backdrop E102, resize 90% and move to towards the top of the first backdrop.

Paste frame E102, resize 90% and rotate 90 degrees to the right.  Select the interior of each part of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, mirror paper 06 and paste below the frame, resize it 50% and position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete on the paper and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into place.

Paste the main tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste wordart E101, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower E105, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste bow E104, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower E103, rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste cluster E101, rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste scissors E1, resize 65%, position below the cluster, erase the chain that shows at the top and apply the drop shadow.

Paste butterfly E1 on the top, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste winged hearts E101, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the tube again just above the two backdrop layers, mirror it and set the blend mode to “Overlay”.  Click on the bottom backdrop to activate it, select all, float and defloat the backdrop, activate the tube and hit delete, deselect.  I erased a bit of the top backdrop layer over the tube’s face, erased the bit of the tube that covered the bottom of the backdrop and dabbed around the antlers with the eraser on low opacity to blend them in.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
