About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous tube “Candy Cane” from
This is a bonus tube available at

I used Christmas Mask 2 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 750 pixels and fill white white.

Paste the mask and resize it 55%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Paste element 25, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 57, resize 35% and position at the top, duplicate and position on the right, duplicate again, mirror this copy and position it on the left then apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 61, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 7, resize 50% and place in position.   Use your freehand selection tool set on point to point with feather set to 0 and draw a rough circle through the centre of the frame, make a new layer below the frame and fill with black.    Paste the tube, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect, lower the opacity on the tube to around 65 and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste the tube again, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below the main tube and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the copy and move over to the right.

Paste element 2, resize 30% and position on the right, duplicate, resize the copy another 90% and position on the left below the copy of element 50 there, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 15, resize 25%, position just below the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60 on the top, resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 47, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 38, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 43, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
