About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used the kit “Clockwork Sun” from

You will need my mask

Font of choice.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 17 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize the mask 85%, duplicate it and change the blend mode on the copy to “Hard Light”, close off the white background layer, merge visible and reopen the white layer.

Paste element 57, resize 75% and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 8, resize 50% and move into place.  Select the interior of the frame with your  magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 15 into the selection.  Paste the full size tube, resize 80%, position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete, and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”.

Paste the tube again, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 98, resize 60%, drag below the frame  group, place in position erasing the bottom part of the trunk that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 58 above the frame group, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 56, resize 60%, place in position erasing the bottom bit of the post that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 69, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60, resize 50%, apply the drop shadow, change the blend mode to “Hard Light” and move into place.

Paste element 66, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2,  resize 35% and rotate 40 degrees to the right, place in position  and apply the drop shadow but changing the horizontal to 15.

Paste element 59 on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the settings back).

Paste element 32, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow .

Paste element 22, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check you layers now and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
