About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a gorgeous tube from
Misticheskaya.
The tube comes with  many layers and can be purchased at

The kit is “Autumns Cry” from
This is another fabulous kit with many elements, sprays, papers and word arts
typical of Dee’s gorgeous kits.
You can purchase the kit at

You will need mask 18 from

I used the included alpha for my text.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 20 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask, resize it 95% and mirror it.

Paste spray 28, move over to the left, duplicate and move the copy down a bit and to the right.

Paste element 126c, resize 75% and move into position.

Paste spray 4, resize 90%, drag below element 126 and position along the top of it.

Paste element 111a, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste spray 20b on the top, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube  (I used the red layer but recoloured her top a little pinker and I had nothing in her hands as I added the robin from the kit), resize 23%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 5, resize 35%, select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 18 into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and position behind the log.

Paste element 33a, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 109b, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1b, resize 20%, position above the log and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 127, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8b, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 132, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 71, resize 15%, position behind element 8b and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 70, resize 15%, position above the lamp and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 83, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 91, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 89, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 88, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 36, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6a, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 78, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 86, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 94 on the top, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 135, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 20%, position on the notice that is on the frame and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 20%, position on the apple and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 44, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 6%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste spray 18, resize 50% and duplicate.  Position one copy just above the frame and the sign on the right, mirror the other copy and position on the left below the tree.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.  I used the alpha for my text.
