About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous bonus tube “Dread Mop” from
This tube is the current free bonus tube available until 7th September.
You can purchase Barbara’s tubes from

I used a kit inspired by tube 43-2 by Martin Abel from
You can purchase the kit at

You will need 4hwmask2 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 18%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer , paste paper 5 into the selection,  deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Paste element 14, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 60% and rotate 120 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 3, resize 45%, mirror and move into position.   Select the interior of the frame with your  magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 1 into the selection.   Paste the close up tube, position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste the main tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 50%, drag below the tube and position on the right, duplicate, mirror and move the copy over to the left, erase the parts that overlap hiding the join behind the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 17, resize 40% and flip, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1,  resize 45% and position on the right, duplicate, position on the copy on the left below the flames and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 19, resize 15% and mirror, position on the right below the copy of element 1 and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8 making sure it’s on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5, resize 35%, drag below element 8, duplicate, place in position erasing the part that overlaps hiding the join behind element 8 and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 16 on the top, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste element 3, resize 80% and mirror, position below the tube, apply the drop shadow and erase any that shows below the bottom of the tag.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
