About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous tube “Witch 5” by
You can purchase the tube at

I used the kit “Cemetery Masquerade” from
I loved this kit, love Halloween!!!
You can purchase the tube at

You will need Halloween mask 4 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal  5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canavs 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 18%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 24 into the selection, deselect and delete the original mask layer.

Paste element 85, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 108, resize 35%, drag below the house, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 107, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 79, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 7 on the top and resize 25%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, paste paper 7 as a new layer below the frame, resize the paper 35% and position it in the frame with the top, right hand corner in the frame, we don’t want the blue bit, invert the selection and hit delete.  Open the tube, mirror the full size copy and paste on your canvas, resize 80%, position in the frame and again hit delete, deselect.  Paste element 9, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow. Change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Merge the frame down onto the spider, again onto the tube and then again onto the paper and move into position.

Paste element 10, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 10%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Undo the mirror on the tube and paste it again, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 110, resize 30%, drag below the tube, duplicate, place in position  along the bottom of the house and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 61, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 89, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 91, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 95, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40 on the top, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 110 again, resize 20%, duplicate,  place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 19, resize 12%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 88, resize 8%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 99, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 8%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments (I pulled the mask out a bit wider using my Pick Tool), then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
