About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the awesome layered tube “Barbie Doll”
from the latest pack 89 by
You can purchase the tube from

I used a gorgeous kit inspired by Jessica Dougherty’s tube 53-1  by
You can purchase the kit at
This is a really beautiful kit!

I used mask DD_NVM_1 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal  5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask, resize 90%.

Paste frame 3 and resize it 70%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 30, make a new layer below it and paste paper 6 into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move over to the right a little.

Paste element 20, resize 70%, duplicate, resize the copy another 80% and mirror it, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the tube, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 60%, duplicate, mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 30%, position on the right above the tube,  duplicate, position the copy on the left below the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 12, resize 30%, duplicate,  place one copy below the tube on the right, one on the top and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 8, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24 again, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 20%, duplicate and mirror the copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

I recoloured the right hand side of the mask orange.  I also drew a selection around the tubes arm and hand, deleted it then repasted it on the top so it was above the flowers.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, drag the bird above the text and stand him on it then export on a transparent background as a png.
