About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful freebies!

I used 4flowermask (3) from

I used the Windows font Impact.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 800 by 750 and fill with white.

Paste element 3, resize 85%, move over to the left a little and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2 and resize 70% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into the selection.  Open photo mask Canal Grand, mirror it then copy and paste it on your canvas, resize it 70% and position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete and deselect.  Go to Effects – Texture Effects – Blinds and apply using the settings in my screen shot below then repeat the effect with the Horizontal box unchecked then change the blend mode to “Hard Light”.   Close off your white background and element 3, merge visible, open the closed layers and move the merged layer into position.

Paste the tube, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 40%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54, resize 22% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 86, resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 58, resize 17%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45 on the top, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Fecnikek’s mask just above the white background and resize it 30%.  Enlarge your canvas if you need to.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer and paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Now check your layers and use your Pick Tool on the mask to make it fit the tag nicely. I made my mask narrower and taller.  Remember to sharpen it up after you have used this tool.

Paste element 77, mirror it and resize 90%, drag down to just above the mask, place in position erasing the part that shows at the top, recolour brown to better match the rest of the tag and apply the drop shadow (check my Tips & Tricks Page for info on recolouring).

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
