About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 95, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, pate paper 04 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 95%.

Paste backdrop and move into position.

Paste chickenwire and apply the drop shadow twice, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste doodle 2, resize 60% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow

Paste frame 1, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element  01, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, desaturate it, resize it 90% and place in position but do not apply the drop shadow yet.

Paste the butterfly, resize 120% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below the tube, apply the drop shadow, place in position and change the blend mode to “Hard Light”.

Paste winged heart on the tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste string 101, resize 60%, drag down to just above the chickenwire, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 01, resize 60% and duplicate, position one copy on the left above the string, the second on the right above frame 2 and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste flower 03, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 04, resize 35%, position above the flower 01 which is on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 02, resize 45%, position below winged heart and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 05, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any adjustments.

Duplicate the tube, change the blend mode on the top copy to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity on it to around 70, merge it down onto the original and apply the drop shadow.

Duplicate the tube again, bring this copy to the top and erase it around the flowers to bring them above the tube.  We want her hair to be above the winged heart.

Crop your tag now then add your copyright information and text.

Starting at the top, close off all your layers down to and including the tube and “merge visible”.  Close of this merged layer, open the closed layers and again “merge visible”.

Open Simone’s animation in Animation Shop.  I recoloured the animation which was quite time consuming but I think worth it.  To recolour, go to Edit – Select All – File – Export frames – to Paint Shop Pro.  The frames will then open as layers in Paint Shop.  Go back to Animation Shop and go to File – Export Frames – Break link with exported frames.  Now in Paint Shop you need to recolour every layer, then close them all off apart from the top one, right click on the frame “Copy Merged”  and paste in Animation Shop “As a new animation”.  Back in Paint shop, close off the top layer, open the second one, copy merged again and in Animation Shop “Paste before current frame”.  You then need to work down copying and pasting each frame in front of the last one.

Back on your tag, close off the top merged layer, open the bottom one, copy it and paste it in Animation Shop as “A new animation”.  Simone's animation has 33 frames so we need to duplicate this merged layer until it also has 33 frames.  Click on Simone’s animation to activate it, go to Edit – Select All – Edit – Copy, now click on your merged layer and go to Edit – Select All, right click on the first frame,  go to  “Paste into selected frame”  and paste the butterflies on your tag.  I positioned mine so they were coming out of the heart.

Back in Paint Shop close off the bottom merged layer, open the top one, copy it and paste it in Animation Shop as before and duplicate it until you have 33 copies then select all the frames and paste them on your animated bottom layer.

When you are all done, run your tag through the Optimization Wizard and save as a gif.
