About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “Platinum Plus”
From the latest pack 85 from
You can purchase the tube from

The kit is “Classy Christmas” from
and can be purchased at

I used winter mask 2 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 45, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask and resize it 60%.  Select all, float and defloat the mask, make a new layer, paste paper 2 in the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask layer.

Paste frame 6 and resize 82%.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 61, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the main tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 40%, drag below the tube and duplicate twice.  Flip one copy and position behind the tube up a bit, rotate one copy 90 degrees to the left and move to the right and the last copy rotate 90 degrees to the right and move over to the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste item 17, resize 35%, position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 47, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25 on the top, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 23% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 43, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 34, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the close up tube below the frame, resize it 80%, duplicate it, mirror the duplicate and resize another 80% and position both tubes in the frame.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, invert it and hit delete on both tubes.  Change the blend mode on the tubes to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
