About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful bonus tube “Heaven’s Gate” from
This fabulous tube is totally free with a tube purchase of $9 from
running up to 7th November.

The kits “Alluring” from
and can also be purchased at

I used mask 1 from

You will need Filter Factory filter
for the effect on the mirror.
(Filter 10 in Gallery E).

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 830 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask as a new layer and resize it 40%.  Select all, float the mask and defloat it, make a new layer, paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect and delete the original mask layer.  Duplicate your paper mask layer and merge the copy down onto the original

Paste element 5, resize 90% and move up a little.

Paste element 24, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 55%, drag below the tube, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 15, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 55%, duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 26, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.  I pulled the mask out wider at the sides as it was a little narrow.

Paste element 30, flip it, resize it 30% and place in position.  Select the interior of the glass section with your magic wand, expand the selection by 1,  make a new layer below the element and fill with black.

Open the main tube again, duplicate it and close the original.  Flip the tube and rotate it 30 degrees to the left, copy it and paste it on your canvas.  Resize the tube 30% and position it in the mirror, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect, merge the tube down onto the black background and apply the Metal Peacocks filter hitting the random button until you get a good effect, then apply the drop shadow to the element and merge it down onto the filtered layer.

When you are all done, crop your tag if it needs it, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
