About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful layered tube
“Jenn” from pack 84 by
You can purchase the tube at

I used the kit “Charity” from
The kit is also available at
I used my mask

I used the Windows font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 775 by 850 and fill with white (this canvas is large as this was one of my first masks and I did not crop it enough, you can crop the canvas after you applied the mask if you want it smaller).

Make a new layer, select app, paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste frame 2, resize 45% and move into position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it, the paper 1 into the selection and deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 34, resize 50%, drag below the frame and paper and position towards the bottom on the right, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and position towards the top on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the main tube on the top, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 90%, drag below the tube and place in position, erase the part that shows to the left of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 70% and duplicate.  Position the original copy to the right of the tube and the duplicate on the left of her, erase the bottom of the vase on each element and apply the drop shadow to them.

Paste element 35, resize 25% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 25% and place in position behind the tube, duplicate, bring the duplicate to the top and duplicate it again, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 3, resize 30% and duplicate, position one copy between the two copies of element 33, one, position the other copy below both of them and mirror it, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 11, resize 55%, place in position above the top cop of element 3 and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 30%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the close up tube between the frame and the paper, change the blend mode to “Hard Light”, select the interior of the frame and expand the selection as before, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
