About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Give Me My Wings” by
You can purchase the tube at

The freebie kit, also named “Give Me My Wings” is from
Nae’s Dezines.
You can get this gorgeous kit from Nae’s site
Thank you Nae!

You need my mask 0008,
you will find it on my masks page.

I used the Windows font
Impact.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0,horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 800 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 7 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 90%.

Paste wire mesh, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 3, resize 50% and place in position.  We will come back to this.

Paste the tube (I used the one with the wings resized 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste cloth 1, resize 60% and rotate 100 degrees to the left, drag down to just above the mask, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 4, resize 25%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste button 1, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the suitcases on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 3, resize 15%, drag below the suitcases, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste button 5, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste leaf 2, resize 25%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, resize it another 90% and drag it above the suitcases, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste broken chain on the top, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste key, resize 20% and rotate 20% to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Go back to the frame and click anywhere on your canvas outside of it with your magic wand to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 1 into it.  Paste the tube again and resize it 80%, position in the right hand section of the frame, invert the selection again and hit delete on the tube. Paste the tube again mirrored, resize 75%, position in the left hand part of the frame and again hit delete on it, deselect.  Erase the part of this second tube that goes over the first tube and lower the opacity on it to around 80; change the blend mode on the first tube to "Hard Light" and power the opacity to around 50.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste one of the butterflies, resize 13%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
