About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Matt” from
I purchased this tube from PSP Tubes Emporium
Which is now closed but there is a very similar tube called
“Revolver” that can be purchased at

I used a fabulous kit “Purple Heart” from
This is Dee’s part of two military kits by herself and Carita Creations and
you can purchase the kits separately or save by purchasing both with a coupon from

Font is

Unless noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Paste spray 4 and resize 75%.

Open spray 15, resize 75% and position top right, duplicate and move the copy down and to the left.

Paste frame 9a, resize 50% and place in position.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame, paste paper 4 into the selection and deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste element 11, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste word art 5b, resize 65% and use your Pick tool to stretch the word art out a bit wider, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 80% but it may be a different size if you purchase from the Factory.

Paste element 3, drag below the word art, resize 80% and duplicate, place in position either side and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 48b, resize 25%, drag  above the word art, duplicate twice, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 49, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 62, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 40% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, duplicate, place in position erasing the parts that overlap with the join behind the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste spray 3, resize 75%, drag below the bullets, place in position and apply a drop shadow changing the vertical to 1 and blur to 5.

Paste element 9, resize 35%, drag below spray 3, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember  to change the settings back).

Paste element 2, drag to just below the bullets, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 63 above the word art, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 42, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37a on the top, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 64, resize 60%and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 25% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 52g, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Go back to the frame, select the interior and expand the selection as before, paste the close up tube below it and, resizing as needed, position in the frame, invert the selection, hit delete and deselect.   Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 80, apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 55 above the frame, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow twice.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
