About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

You need a license to use Enys’ art, available from

I used the mini scrap kit “Dark Light 2” from

You will need my mask

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical  0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 850 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 95%.

Paste backdrop, resize 80% and move down a little.

Paste glitter splat, resize 60%, position top right, duplicate, move the duplicate down and to the left and apply the drop shadow to each (be sure to use a good unsharp mask on these to brighten them up, more info on my Tips & Tricks page).

Paste frame 6, resize 95%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

With your oblong selection tool, draw an oblong through the centre of the frame, make a new layer below it, open paper 8, flip it and then paste it into the selection.    We need this selection again later so save it to alpha channel (Selections – Load/Save Selection – Save to Alpha channel) then deselect.

Paste frame 1, rotate it 90 degrees to the right and resize 105%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste winged skull, resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste ribbon 12, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste skull n candle, resize 90%, drag below the ribbon, place in position on the right erasing the skull so just the candle shows, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the left and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the main tube, resize 70%, drag below the candle, place in position and apply the drop shadow.   I did a bit of cutting and pasting and some erasing to hide the hard edge on the tube but it’s mostly hidden by the candle.

Paste the tube again,  resize 90% and mirror it, drag below both frames, place in position, find your saved selection (Selections – Load/Save selection – Load Selection from Alpha Channel), invert it, hit delete on the tube, deselect and change the blend mode to “Overlay”.

Paste flower 1, drag up above the ribbon, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 4, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste flower 0 on the top, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste pocket watch, resize 60%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste key, resize 55%, drag below the flowers, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the tube again, position it in the bottom, right hand corner, select the backdrop, float and defloat it, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
