About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
Angela Deigel (formerly Angela Newman).
I purchased my tube from Artistic Minds Inc. but they
are now available at

The kit is “Attic Treasures” from
This is a gorgeously nostalgic kit, I loved it!
You can purchase Carita’s kits at

I used photo vintage photo mask 02 posted on 3rd May 2015 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask as a new layer and resize it 37% then select it, float it and defloat it, make another layer and paste paper 7 into the selection, deselect and delete the original mask.  I used my pick tool on the mask while I was making the tag to pull it down longer.

Paste element 48, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize if needed and place in position.  My tube from AMI is quite small, they may be a different size from CDO.

Paste element 60, resize 65%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below the bookcase, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 1, resize 30% and move into position. Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and paste paper 7 into it.  Mirror the tube, paste as a new layer and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and to the tube, change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 60.

Paste element 17, drag above the bookcase, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 38, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 50% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 31, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 39, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 53, resize 30% and rotate 120 degrees to the left, drag below the gramophone, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9 on the top, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers for any adjustments (as noted earlier, I stretched the mask down).  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
