About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

I used a beautiful kit called “Underwater Garden” by
This lovely kit can be purchased at

I used mask 65 from

I used the Windows font
Impact.

I used a drop shadow throughout of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 90%.

Paste element 17, resize 95%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 1 and resize it 95%.  I recoloured the frame blue so it showed up better against the green element 17.  Select the interior of each section of the frame and expand the selection by 20, paste paper 17 below it, resize the paper 50% and position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste the tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 41, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 60%, duplicate, resize the duplicate another 90% and drag it below the original copy, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 26, resize 45% duplicate and mirror one copy.   Position the mirrored copy on the top and drag the original copy below the tube and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 40, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 34, resize 40%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the tube again just above the mask and position so her eyes show just above the frame.  Select the mask layer, float and defloat it, invert the selection, hit delete on the mask, deselect and change the blend mode to “Luminous Legacy”.

Paste the tube again, resize it 80% and mirror it, position on the top of the mask, again select, float and defloat the mask and hit delete on the tube then change the blend mode to “Overlay”.  Erase the part of the first masked tube that is below this copy.

Open the font, select a dark colour for the background and with foreground closed off, type your text, use the nodes to get the size right and convert to raster layer.  Move the text into position behind the fish.  Select the text, float and defloat it and contract the selection by 2, paste paper 3 as a new layer, resize it 50% and position in the selection, invert the selection and hit delete on the paper to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply an inner bevel to the paper layer as in my screenshot below then merge it down onto the dark layer and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and export on a transparent background as a png.
