About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful art of

The kit was inspired by Andreea Cernestean from
This is a really fabulous kit and it can also be purchased at

I used a fall mask 3 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all and paste paper 2 into the selection.   Paste the mask as a new layer, resize it 23%, float and defloat it, invert the selection, activate the paper and hit delete.  Deselect and delete the mask.

Paste the castle, resize 65% and move into position.  Apply the drop shadow making sure the box “Shadow on a new layer” is checked, then erase the part of the shadow around the cloud.

Paste frame 2, resize 45% and rotate 90 degrees in either direct.  Paste paper 3 below the frame and resize it 30%, position in the frame and erase any that shows on the outside of it.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste the tree, resize 40%, drag below the merged layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tower, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the steed on the top, resize 3% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  We will do some blending in around the bottom of this tube later.

Paste the lanterns , resize 25%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the vine, resize 40% and duplicate.  Mirror one copy and position it on the frame.   Rotate the other copy 90 degrees to the right, drag it to the top, duplicate it again and mirror the duplicate and position along the bottom of the tube.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste the tuberose, resize 25% and duplicate twice.  Position one copy below the merged frame layer, roate one copy 90 degrees to the right and position at the bottom, flip the third copy and position on the top.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste beads 2 make sure they are on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose 2, resize 15% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste rose 1, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the falcon, resize 25% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Go back to the tube and use your erasure on size 50 and opacity 10 to blend it in around the bottom.

Check everything again and when you are happy, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
