About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the close up tube “Razor Wired”  from pack 69 by
You can purchase the tube at

I used the fab kit “Heartsick” which is also from
Barbara Jensen
and call also be purchased her store

I used mask 0501 from
and halftone mask 2 from

Font of choice.

Unless noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 800 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply Trese’s mask making sure the “Invert mask data” box is checked, then mirror it.

Open a new canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with black, apply Dee’s halftone mask, copy it and paste it on your original canvas.   You can delete the second canvas now.

Paste element 38, move up and to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 90%, mirror and flip, place in position and apply a drop shadow changing the horizontal to 2 and blur to 5.

Paste element 18, place in position erasing the bottom key part out and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the settings back).

Paste frame 2, resize 70% and move into place.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below it and fill the selection with black.  Paste the tube, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube to remove the excess, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 11, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 60%, drag below the flower, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate, use my tag for reference for positioning and apply the dorp shadow.  I erased the bit at the top of the copy.

Paste element 19, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste alement 16, resize 80%, drag right down to above the two masks, duplicate a couple of times, position around your tag and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are all done, cropy your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export in a transparent background as a png.
