About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous layered tube “Valerie Virgin” from pack 47 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used the beautiful kit “Enchanted” from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 84 from

Font is Impact which is a Windows font.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixles and fill with white.

Make another layer, select all, paste paper 2 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste frame 1, resize 75%, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste the main tube, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 50%, drag below the tube and position on the left, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the right erasing the part that overlaps with the first copy hiding the join behind the tube then apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 28, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 32, resize 35%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 23, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 31, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 25%, duplicate and rotate the duplicate 70 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 9, resize 40% and mirror, drag below the pears, place in position erasing the bottom part and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste the close up tube below the frame, resize 80% and position.  Select the interior of the frame and expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste element 4 and position below elements 13 and 31 (that’s the flowers and ribbon at the top of the frame), resize 85% and lower the opacity to around 80 so the tube below shows a little better,.

Paste element 18 on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 35%, drag below the pears, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Open the font, close off your foreground colour, your background can be any colour, type your text, stretch it out to the correct size and turn into a raster layer.  We want the text below the pears.  Select the text, float and defloat it and then invert it, paste paper 5 as a new layer and hit delete, deselect and delete your original text layer.  Apply an inner bevel to your text as my screenshot below and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
