About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “Kissable” from pack 41 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used a beautiful kit called “Cupcakes” from
The kit can also be found at

I used mask 0564 by

I used the free filter “Metal Peacocks”
(its filter 10 in Gallery E) from

Font of choice.

If you have problems with the filter, it may need importing  into Filters Unlimited, check out my "Tips and Tricks" page for more info.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 850 and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 90%.

Paste frame 3, resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and place roughly in position.

Paste the main tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 50%, drag below the frames and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, rotate it 50 degrees to the right and position between the frames, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 19 (it should be above the copy of element 16 and between the frames), resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 35% and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, drag it above the top frame, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 2, resize 50%, position below the top frame and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 36 on the top, resize 50% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 32%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, position one below element 36 on the right and the other on the top on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 27 on the top, resize 32%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back to the bottom frame, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the frame and fill with a shade of blue taken from one of the elements.  Open the close up tube, mirror it and paste as a new layer, resize 80% and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance (Legacy)” and apply the Metal Peacocks filter hitting the random button until you find an effect you like.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Repeat the above with the second frame filling with a shade of purple  and with the tube not mirrored.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
