About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous bonus tube “Twisted Sister” from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase Barbara’s tubes from

I used the fabulous kit “This Christmas” from
Carita’s kits can also be purchased at

I used the freebie photo mask mask 2013 from

You will also need the 20-20 mask

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 x 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all and paste paper 6 into the selection.  Paste Ems’ photo mask as a new layer and resize it 22%.  You should still have the original selection you made so float and defloat the photo mask, invert the selection, activate the paper layer and hit delete, deselect and delete the photo mask layer.

Paste the main tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Put this canvas aside now.

Copy your merged tube again,  paste it as a new image and mirror it, I left the Santa hat off this time.  Crop this tube something like my screenshot below then apply the 20-20 mask, erase any of her leg that is still showing and paste it on your original canvas just above the mask layer.  You can delete the cropped tube canvas as we will not need this again.

Paste element 8 and resize 60%. Select each interior part of the element, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and paste paper 5 into the selection.  Paste the tube again, resize it 90% and position in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminous Legacy” and apply the drop shadow to the frame, close off all your layers apart from these three and merge visible, rotate 10 degrees to the right and move into position.

Paste element 1, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 70% and duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 17, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 15% and duplicate, rotate the original 80 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 29, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7 on the top, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
