About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fab layered tube “Platinum and Plaid”
From the latest pack 76 from
You can purchase the tube from

I used the beautiful kit “Autumn Song” from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 143 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 5 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize 90%.

Paste element 4 and resize 70%.  Select the interior of each part which your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the element, paste paper 3 into the selection and deselect.  Rotate both the frame and the paper 10 degrees to the left.

Paste the main tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 55%, drag below the element and the paper and position at the bottom on the left, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate, position it at the top on the right and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 12, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 70%, position at the top, duplicate, flip the duplicate, position at the bottom and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 3 on the top, resize 90%, mirror and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 35%, drag below element 3, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 24, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 on the top, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate, position the original copy on the right below the ribbon and the duplicate on the left above the ribbon and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 31, resize 30% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Paste element 29, resize 40%, position below the copy of element 28 and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, position on element 29 and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the close up tube, drag down between element 4 and the paper below it, resize 70% and duplicate, change the blend mode on each copy to “Hard Light” and position in the element, select the interior of the element and expand it as before, invert the selection and hit delete one each copy of the tube, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.   Merge the two tube copies down on the paper and apply the “Blinds” texture on the settings in my screenshot below (colour is black), then apply it again with the “Horizontal” box checked.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
