About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I again used the fabulous art of
You need a license to use Enys’ art, available from

The kit was inspired by Pinup Toons June 2013
bonus tube and is from Angela at
It can also be purchased at

For the animation you will need Animation Shop
and the free animation “Lucky 13” from Simone at

I used photo mask 1 included in a freebie kit from
The kit is called

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 6 into the selection and deselect.  Paste the mask as a new layer, resize it 47%, float and defloat it, invert the selection, click on the paper to active it, hit delete and deselect.  You can now delete Minyu’s mask.

Paste element 3 and resize 75%.

Paste element 9, resize 75% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2, resize 65% and rotate 10 degrees to the left.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 15, paste paper 3 as a new layer below the frame, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste the tube, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 50%, drag below the cards, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 1 on the top, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 30%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 13, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 70% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.  If you are not continuing with the animation, save your tag on a transparent background as a png.

Open Simone’s animation in Animation Shop and resize it 80%.

Back in Paint Shop, starting from the bottom, close off your layers up to but not including the tube and merge the open layers visible.  Close that merged layer, open the bottom closed layers and again merge them visible.  Copy this bottom merged layer and paste it in Animation Shop “As A New Animation”.  Duplicate until you have 20 frames (the same number of frames as the animation”.  Click on the animation to activate it, go to Edit – Select All – Edit – Copy, click on your tag frames, again go to Edit – Select All, right click on the first frame and paste the copied animation onto your tag using the screenshot below for the position.

Back in Paint Shop, close off the bottom merged layer, open the top one, copy it and paste in Animation Shop “As A New Animation”, again duplicate it so you have 20 copies and repeat the above pasting it on your animated tag.

When you are done, run your tag through the “Optimization Wizard” and save it as a gif.
