About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful layered tube “Emerald”
from pack 65 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

I used a gorgeous kit called “Fabulous Fall” from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 10 from Autumn Mask set 3 by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 65, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 18, resize 40% and rotate 10 degrees to the left.   Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and place roughly in position.  Select the interior of the first element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, paste paper 6 as a new layer below it, resize 45%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Now repeat with the copy frame and the paper in a slightly different position.

Paste the main tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the close up of the tube between the original copy of element 18 and the paper and resize 80%.  Again, select the interior of element, expand the selection as before, invert it and hit delete on the tube, deselect.  Duplicate the tube, apply Paint Shop’s Blinds texture to the original using the settings in my screen shot below and colour #d87900. Change the blend mode on both copies of the close up to “Hard Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.  Close off all your layers apart from this frame, the two close up tubes and the paper and merge visible then reopen the closed layers.  Repeat the above with the right hand copy of element 18 and the tube mirrored.

Paste element 13 above the two merged layers, resize 80% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 80% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 70% and rotate 70 degrees to the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 14 on the top, resize 50%, duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 25, resize 50%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 8, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29a, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 40%, drag below element 29a, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 24 on the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 35%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, I made my mask a little smaller.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
