About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

Thank you Jessica for being so generous with your freebie samplers!

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 95, blur 10.

Paste cluster 1, resize 55%, move up and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 2, resize 65% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 1, resize 30%, rotate 10 degrees to the right and place in position.

Paste labels and resize 45%, drag below the frame and position on the left of it, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the right so some shows on the other side of the frame 1, drag it below the original copy and apply the drop shadow to each.

Go back to the frame 1, select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 1 into the selection.  Paste the tube, resize 45% and position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light”.

Paste rose making sure it’s on the top, resize 35%, flip and then rotate 50 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste word art 1, resize 70% and place in position.

Paste splatter, drag it down below the frame 2, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the position of your layers so far.

Open the tube again, duplicate it and close the original, apply the 20-20 mask and then paste it on your canvas above the two copies of the labels, mirror, resize 85%, place in position and change the blend mode to “Hard Light”.   Erase the part that shows at the bottom below the word art and the hard edge at the top, then, with your erasure set to 50 and opacity to 10, rub around the top of the tube to fade it out.

Paste the sparkles on the top, resize 85% and place in position.

Paste the keys, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the mouse, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers again and double check them on a black background to make sure the sparkles are right.

Paste smudge just above the white background layer, resize it 80% and then use your pick tool to make it shorter and a little wider so it fits better behind the tag.

Go back to the white background layer, make a new layer, select  all, paste paper 4 into the selection and apply the mask.  Rotate the mask 20 degrees to the left and again use your pick tool to make it a better fit on the back of the tag.

When you are done, cropy your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
