About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the gorgeous layered tube “Opalescence” from
Barbara Jensen.
The tube is from the latest pack 70 and is available at

I used the gorgeous kit “Key to my Heart” from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 0035from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 and fill with white

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 85%.

Paste element 24 and resize it 65%.  Due to the colours I had picked for my tube, I recoloured this element silver.    Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and paste paper 8 as a new layer below it, position the paper so a darker area is in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Paste the close up tube , resize 80%, position in the frame and again hit delete, deselect.   Change the blend mode on the tube to “Soft Light” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste the main tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, drag down to just above the mask, resize 80% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6 just below the tube, resize 60% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 20, resize 70% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 8,  resize 50%, duplicate twice and resize the copies another 80%, drag one copy above the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 9, resize 50%, position between the two roses and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29 on the top, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 40%, drag below element 28, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2 on the top, resize 35% and rotate 50 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add you copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
