About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the gorgeous layered tube “Precarious”
from the latest pack 70 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used a new kit called “Flying Free” from
This beautiful kit can also be purchased at

I used mask 3 from set 8 by

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 2 and resize it 60%.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into it, deselect.

Paste the tube (this is the main tube), resize it 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 80% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, drag below the tube, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 28, mirror, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 45%,place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, mirror, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Go back to element 2 and paste the close up tube between that and the paper layer below it, duplicate it and mirror the duplicate, change the blend modes on the tubes to “Soft Light” and position them either side of the main tube.  Again, select the interior of the element and expand the selection as before, invert it and then hit delete on each copy tube to remove the excess, deselect and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
