About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
This tube is called “Sea Beacon” and is available at

I used the freebie sampler “Aqua” from
Be sure to check out  the gorgeous full size kits
"Aqua I" and "Aqua II" at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 1 from set 2 from

Font is

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 2 into the selection, deselect, apply the mask and resize it 90%.

Paste smudged and resize it 90%.

Paste frame 2 and resize it 55%, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below the frame and paste paper 1 into the selection.  Mirror the tube and paste it as a new layer, position it in the frame, invert the selection and again hit delete, deselect, change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 65.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Undo the mirror on the tube and paste it again, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the grid, resize it 70%, drag it down to just above smudged, place in position and apply the drop shadow twice.

Paste corner cluster, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste bling, drag up to just below the main tube, resize 80% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste string, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste hearts, flip, resize 80% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste butterflies, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste word art 2 on the top, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the crows,  resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Don’t worry that they don’t show up to well at the moment.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Make a new layer just above the white layer and fill it with black so you can see what you are doing.

Paste cloud as a new layer just above the main tube, resize it 50% and position it on the tube.  Duplicate, drag the duplicate below the butterflies, lower the opacity to around 70 and position behind the crows so that they now show up better.  You can now delete the black layer you made.

Paste gem flower, resize 18% and duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
