About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
Amy Matthews.
You need a license to use to Amy’s art, available at

I used a kit called “Sweet on You” from
This delicious kit can be purchased from

I used mask 06 from

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 55, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask, resize 90%.

Paste element 7, resize 75% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 3, resize 50% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, paste paper 14 below the frame, resize it 45%, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and place in position.

Paste your tube and, resizing as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 75%.

Paste element 42, resize 45% and duplicate twice and mirror two of them.  Position two copies behind the tube, one either side of her and the other two further out to the front either side.  Apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste element 6a, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, position behind the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, position behind the tube on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1,  resize 30%, position to the left of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 30% on the top, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 38, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the word art, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 36, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 35%, drag below the cake, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 40, resize 30% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, drag below the ribbon, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 25% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Time to check your layers and make any adjustments.

Post the close up tube just above the wire netting, resize it 60%, mirror,  rotate it 10 degrees to the left and place in position.  Activate the mask later, select all, float and defloat the mask, invert the selection then go back to the tube and hit delete, deselect.   Change the blend mode on the tube to “Hard Light” and lower the opacity to around 80.

Paste spray 5 just below the “sweet” wordart, resize it 90%, place in position erasing the part that goes over the face of the main tube.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
