About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I again used the fabulous bonus tube “Cyra” from
Barbara Jensen.
I just love this tube, it has so many awesome layer options!
You can get the tube free with a tube purchase of $10 from
 before 17th February.

The kit is “A Touch of Orient” from
This beautiful kit is also available at

I used two masks for the background, masks 117 and 230 by

You will need the mask

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 7 into the selection, deselect, duplicate and close off the top copy.  Apply mask 230 to the original copy and resize it 95%.  Open the top copy, apply mask 117 and resize 80%.

Paste element 19, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17 duplicate and close off the top copy, resize the original 75%, drag it below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  Open the copy and resize it 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 30%, drag below the top layer of leaves, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2 and bring to the top, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 27%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 23%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 23%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 45% and place in position below the tube.  Select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and paste paper 1 as a new layer below it, resize the paper 45% and, using my tag for reference, position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect. Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Go back to the layered tube, copy it merged and then paste it as a new image, crop around her head; something like my screenshot below, apply the 20/20 mask to the cropped image twice and then paste it on your canvas between the paper and the frame, resize it 65%, position it in the frame and lower the opacity to around 60.

Check your layers now and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
