About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “80s Chic”
from the latest pack 67 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can get this tube and the rest of this awesome pack at

I used a new kit called “Love Sucks” from
Love this twist to the usual Valentine kits!
The kit is also available at

I used mask 0501 from

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5 opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 2 into the selection and apply the mask.

Make another layer, this time paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  merge this copy down onto the original copy.

Paste element 6 and resize 50%, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10, make a new layer below the element and paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect.   Apply the drop shadow to the element, merge it down onto the paper and place in position.

Paste the tube, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 90%, drag below the merged layer and position so just a little shows at the top, duplicate, rotate the duplicate 20 degrees to the right and move over to the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 3, resize 65%, position at the top between the two playing card elements and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 70%, rotate 90 degrees to the right and place in position (give it a good sharpen!)

Paste element 28, resize 80% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 70% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 90%, place in position, erase any that shows to the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow then do some erasing so it looks like its pinned through the bow.

Paste element 14 and bring to the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  I brought the tubes top leg above the wordart. When you are done, crop your tag being careful not to crop into the mask, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
