About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful layered tube
“Blueberry Pie” from the latest pack 64 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is “My Kind of Christmas” from
This beautiful kit in lovely soft colours and can also be purchased at

I used two masks in my tag, masks 7 and 8 from

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 60, blur 15.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 2 into the selection and deselect.  Duplicate the paper, close off the top copy and apply mask 8 to the original then resize it 85%.  Open the top copy, apply mask 7 and resize also 85%.

Paste element 8, resize 55%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below it and paste paper 4 into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into position.

Paste element 4, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 3, resize 20%, position on the tree and merge down.

Paste the tube, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7, resize 35%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12, resize 45 and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17 and bring to the top, resize 80% and rotate 90 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19, resize 30% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate and drag it below the flower, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10 being sure its on the top, resize 25% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28, resize 22%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 15% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate and rotate it 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste item 20, resize 22%, duplicate and mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
