About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used a tube called “Black Rose” by
This stunning tube can be purchased at

The kit is “Fairytale Endings” by
This kit is just beautiful with some awesome elements
and it matches the tube perfectly!
You will find the kit at

I used two masks, mask 241 by
and mask 1 from

Font of choice, used

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 2 into the selection and apply Melissaz’ mask, resize 80% and mirror.

Make another layer, paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect and apply Weescotslass’ mask, resize 95%.

Paste element 22 as a new layer, resize 60% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste frame 3 as a new layer and resize 45%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 5, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into the selection, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and place in position.

Paste element 53 as a new layer, resize 60% and drag down below the merged frame layer, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 14a as a new layer, resize 70%, drag below the wall and position at the top, duplicate, rotate the duplicate 90 degrees to the right and position so it shows to the side of the castle erasing any that shows at the bottom, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 14b as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube as a new layer on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element wa_1b as a new layer, resize 65%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4a as a new layer, resize 55%, select the interior with your magic wand, expand the selection by 3, make a new layer below it and paste paper 3 into the selection.  Do not deselect.

Mirror the tube, paste it again and resize the same as before, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect and lower the opacity to around 40%.

Paste element 4b as a new layer, resize 55%, position in the frame, merge the frame down onto this layer and then apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 61 as a new layer, resize 45%, drag below the paper layer on the above group of elements, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 42 as a new layer, resize 60% and position to the left of the tube.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 36b as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54 as a new layer, resize 60% and rotate 50 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shado

Paste element 34 as a new layer, resize 30% and position to the left of the tube, duplicate, move the duplicate over to the right, erase any parts that overlap hiding the join behind the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 55 as a new layer, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, drag below element 6, place in position and apply the drop shadow.    Erase some parts of the ring on element 6 so the key is looped through it and the ring is looped through the wordart.

Paste element 44 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 67 as a new layer, resize 35% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste spray 2 as a new layer, resize 70%, drag below the cat and place in position.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
