About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the gorgeous tube “Tirzah” by
and the beautiful kit “Majestic Grandeur” from
This gorgeous tube is a bonus free gift with a purchase of $5
during the month of September from
where of course you can also purchase the kit.
As well as this beautiful tube gift, there is a 30% discount
on all taggers kits at the store running through September!

You will also need a mask, I used Big Mask 018 by
Vix.

I used the font

Unless noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, opacity 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 and fill with white.

Paste frame 3 as a new layer and resize 50%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5.  Copy paper 16 and paste it as a new layer below the frame, resize the paper 50%, position it in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 10. Close off your white background layer, merge visible, re-open the white layer and move your merged layer up a little.

Duplicate the merged layer, resize it 85% and rotate it 20 degrees to the right, drag below the original merged layer and position to the right of it.  Duplicate this smaller layer, mirror it and position on the left.

Paste element 53 as a new layer making sure it’s on the top, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 56 as a new layer and resize 55%.  Drag below all the merged layers and position so a little shows on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Duplicate the merged layer again, drag it above the merged layers and place in position.  Apply the drop shadow to all layers (remember to change the settings).

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 55%, drag below the top copy of element 56, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube as a new layer on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 14 as a new layer, resize 45%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 78 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 43 as a new layer, resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 20 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 49 as a new layer, resize 50% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 62 as a new layer, resize 60% and position on the left, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 21 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 34 as a new layer, resize 40% and duplicate, position on either side of the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 27 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 51 as a new layer, resize 60% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 40%, position on the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 35 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 42 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 74 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste element 41 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 77 as a new layer, resize 90%, drag below the bird and place in position.

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 25%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Click on your white background layer to activate it, make a new layer, select all, paste paper 16 into the selection and apply the mask, deselect.   Use your pick tool to pull and push the mask into shape behind your tag.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
