About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Estelle” by
Verymany.
You can purchase the tube from

I used a gorgeous kit called “Roxanne” by
Please visit Schnegge’s blog for links to
where you can purchase the kit.

You will also need a mask, I used mask84 by

I used the font

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste paper 10 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow. When you apply the drop shadow on this element, make sure the box “Shadow on new layer” is checked.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 55% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, resize it another 80%, rotate it 20 degrees to the right and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both copies.

Paste frame 4 as a new layer, resize 50% and place in position.  We will come back to this, you can fill it with black for the time being if it makes it easier for you.

Paste element 14 as an new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 03 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 25% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer, resize 45%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10 as a new layer, resize 30%, drag below the car, place in position, erase the part of the chain that shows and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer on the top, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers now and make any necessary adjustments.  I resized my mask a little.

Paste your tube as a new layer (this is going to be the body part of the tube) resize it, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  When you apply the shadow, make sure the box “Shadow on new layer “ is NOT checked.    I resized mine 50% and mirrored it.   When you have the tube in position, duplicate it and close off the top copy for now.  Click on the fan to activate it, select it, float and defloat it, invert the selection, activate the tube and hit delete , deselect.   The tube will now be cut out to the shape of the fan but we only want it the fan shape on the top edge so open up the copy and erase the top part of it leaving the part covering up the cut outs at the bottom.

Go back to the frame, select the interior of it with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5.  Paste your tube again and, resizing as needed, position her face in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, do not deselect.   I used the close up, mirrored and resized 80%.

Make a black and white gradient with the settings in my screenshot below, make a new layer between the close up and the frame and fill with the gradient, lower the opacity to around 60 and deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
