About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of
I think this tube is just stunning!
You need a license to use Brooke’s art, available at

I used a fabulous previously pay to use but now freebie
Kit called “Falling for Steampunk” from

I used two masks, mask 18 from
and mask 151 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, copy paper 4, paste it into the selection and apply Millie’s mask.  Resize 105%.

Make another layer, your selection should still be there, copy paper 1 and paste it into the selection, deselect and apply Vaybs’ mask.   Apply an inner bevel to the mask with the settings in my screenshot below.

Paste Cog 1 as a new layer, resize 85%, position in the top, right hand corner and apply the mask.

Paste Cog 3 as a new layer, resize 70% and position on the right, duplicate, position the duplicate at the bottom on the left and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste frame 5 as a new layer, resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, position on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Décor 5 as a new layer, resize 70% and rotate 10 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Tree as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Décor 4 as a new layer, resize 50% and rotate 180 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Glasses as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Butterfly as a new layer, resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste your tube as a new layer, place in position resizing as needed and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 25%.

Paste Buckets as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.
Paste Bird as a new layer, resize 40% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Wood as a new layer, resize 65% and position on the left, duplicate, rotate the duplicate 10 degrees to the right and position on the right, apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste Sunflower as a new layer, resize 40%, drag below both copies of the wood, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Chain as a new layer, resize 65% and rotate 90 degrees in either direction, drag below the sunflower and position on the left, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right, place both copies in positon erasing the parts that overlap with the join hidden behind the sunflower, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Horse as a new layer, resize 60% and mirror, place in position, erase any of the wheels that show below the wood and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Pinecone as a new layer, drag above the sunflower, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Deco 3 as a new layer,  resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow

Paste Stick as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 75% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Owl as a new layer,  resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Mushroom as a new layer, resize 40%, drag below the wood, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize another 85%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Wire as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 60%, position on the wood and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Tomato as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Seeds as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste Leaf Scatter as a new layer, resize 30% and rotate 30 degrees to the left, position just above your tube and apply the drop shadow.  I positioned this so the largest left was over the hard edge on my tube.  Duplicate this layer, mirror the duplicate, drag it right down to just above the clogs at the bottom and position on the right, apply the drop shadow.

When you have done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
