About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used an awesome tube called “Vivaan” by
Zlata_M.
I have visited India a number of times and just love it there so I
particularly loved this tube!
You can purchase it at

The kit is  “Eastern Promise” by Cat of
It matches the tube perfectly and is totally gorgeous!
You can purchase the kit at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 18 from

I used the font

Unless noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy paper 1, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Paste frame 3 as a new layer and resize 30%.  Select the interior of the frame with your magic wand, expand the selection by 10 and make a new layer below it.  Pick a dark colour from your tube and fill the selection with the colour, I used #0f2823.  Paste element 34 as a new layer and, using my tag for reference, position it in the frame , invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Paste your tube on your canvas, drag it below the door and, resizing as needed, position her so she is looking out of the window.  Again hit delete to remove the excess and deselect.   I used the close up tube resized 65%. Apply the drop shadow to the frame, apply a drop shadow to the door/window changing the horizontal to 1 and blur to 3 and change the blend mode on the tube to “Soft Light”.   Close off all your layers apart from the tube and coloured layer below it, duplicate the tube layer and merge visible. Open the frame and door/window and merge visible again.  Re-open the rest of the layers  and put the merged layer roughly in position.

Paste your tube again, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow (remember to change the settings back).  I resized this tube 50%.

Paste element 10 as a new layer, resize 65%, drag below the merged layer, position at the top on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11 as a new layer,  resize 60% and position behind the merged layer, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the right so it’s just along the bottom of the Taj Mahal.  Apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 40%, drag below the Taj and position so a little shows to the left of the tube.  Duplicate, position the duplicate so a little shows on the far left of the tag, duplicate again, mirror this copy and position it on the right.  Erase the bottom of the stalks on the last two copies and apply the drop shadow to all.

Paste element 44 as a new layer, drag it up so it’s just below the merged layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60 as a new layer, place in position on the left of the merged layer and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 as a new layer, resize 20% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45 as a new layer, resize 20% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, drag below element 44,  place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer, drag it above the merged layer, resize 75%, erase the leaves (the bottom will be covered so just roughly erase them, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 54 as a new layer, resize 40% and rotate 10 degrees to  the left, duplicate and mirror the duplicate.  Drag the original below element 26 and position on the left, mirror the copy and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 36 as a new layer, resize 35% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 23 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 46 as a new layer,  resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17, resize 13% and duplicate twice and mirror the duplicates, position one of the duplicates behind the tigers feet, the original above the tigers feet and the second duplicate over on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 42 as a new layer in the top, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 47 as a new layer, resize 10% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, duplicate twice, mirror the duplicates and resize one other another 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then we you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
