About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the beautiful layered tube “Ease Off”
from the latest pack 58 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used a really gorgeous kit called “Wings of Love” by
The kit can also be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 4 from

I used Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact glass setting
but you can use a regular bevel if you don’t have this plugin.

Font of choice.

If this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, please be sure to check out my “About my tutorials” page before you start, thank you.

Unless other stated in the tutorial, I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy paper 4,  make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Resize 95%.

Paste element 1 as a new layer and resize 65%.  Select the interior of the element with you magic wand and expand the selection by 20.  Paste your tube as a new layer below the frame and place it in position resizing as needed but make sure it fills the frame, invert the selection and hit delete on the tube to remove the excess, deselect.  I used the close up tube resized 65%.  Apply a drop shadow to the frame of vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 10.

Paste element 17 as a new layer, resize it 60% and drag it below the tube.  Use your Pick tool (called the Deform tool in older versions) to push the sides in a little to make it a little narrower but keeping the height.  Remember to sharpen it up well after using the Pick tool.  Select the interior of this frame and expand the selection as before then make a new layer below it, copy the paper again and paste it into the selection, deselect.  Apply the same drop shadow to the frame that you applied previously.

Paste element 15 as a new layer, apply Eye Candy 5 Impact glass on the “Clear” setting and then resize 55% (again be sure to unsharp mask after resizing), drag down to just above the mask layer and position top right, duplicate, flip the duplicate and position bottom left.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer (remember to change the settings).  If you don’t have the plugin, apply an inner bevel using the settings in my screenshot below.

Paste element 7 as a new layer and drag it above the rectangular frame, resize 50% and position top right, duplicate, mirror and flip the duplicate and position bottom left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 10 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 18 as a new layer, resize 25% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer, resize 30%, drag below the ivy and position on the right, duplicate, drag the duplicate below the rectangular frame and paper layer and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 40%, and position above the frames,  duplicate, drag the duplicate below the rectangular frame and paper layer and position at the top.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 20 as a new layer, resize 30% and position on the right above the frames, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, rotate it 30 degrees to the right and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 3 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position on the leaves and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16 as a new layer, resize 50% and mirror, drag above the flower layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9 as a new layer,  resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers now and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste the flowers 3 and 3a as new layers, resize them 35% and duplicating and mirroring some copies, position them below the rectangular frame and paper layers.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
