About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous layered tube “On the Edge”
from the latest pack 58 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube from

The kit is called “Dead Inside” and is by
You can also purchase this awesome kit at

I used mask 05 and mask 18 by Millie at

Font of choice.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before you start if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 95, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy paper 10, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection and apply mask 05, resize 98%.

Copy paper 2, make another layer on your canvas, paste this paper into the selection, deselect and apply mask 18, duplicate and merge the top copy down onto the original.

Paste element 8 as a new layer, resize 45% and place in position.  Paste paper 5 as a new layer below the frame, resize it 30% and position it in the frame.  Duplicate both the frame and the paper layers and close the copies off for now.  Go back to the original copies, apply the drop shadow to the frame and merge it down onto the paper.

Paste element 4 as a new layer,  resize 45% and duplicate, rotate the original copy 20 degrees to the right and the other 10 degrees to  the right,  place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste your main tube on your canvas, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 65%.

Open the copy of the frame that you closed off, drag it up to just below the tube, resize it 90% and place in position.  Open the copy paper and again resize 90% and position in the frame.  Paste your tube again and position it in the frame resising as needed, select the interior of the frame, expand the selection by 10, invert it and hit delete on the tube to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and the tube and change the blend mode on the tube to “Luminance Legacy”.  I mirrored my tube and resized it 90%.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 60% and flip, place in position on the right, duplicate and move over to the left, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 18 as a new layer and duplicate.  Mirror one copy and position it on the right, flip the other copy, drag it down below the frame/tube/paper layers and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 22 as a new layer on the top, resize 30% and duplicate.  Position one rose on the right below the tube, mirror the copy and position on top of the tube on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 30%, position below the top rose on the left and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer on the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 10 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2 as a new layer, resize 30%, mirror and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15 as a new layer, resize 45% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 as a new layer, resize 30% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 24%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 19 as a new layer, resize 33%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 16 as a new layer, resize 35% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11 as a new layer, resize 20% and rotate 30 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
