About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used tube 1 from package 9 by
You need a license to use Maxine’s art, available at

The kit was inspired by tube 2 of the same package from
The kit can also be purchased at

I used two masks, mask 0120 by Simone at
and mask 219 by
Vix.

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page before you start if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, thank you.

Unless otherwise stated, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 95, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer on your canvas, select all, copy paper02, paste it into the selection and apply Simone’s mask, resize 95% and mirror.

Make another layer and copy Paper 01 and paste it into the selection, deselect, apply Vix’ mask and apply the drop shadow to it.

Paste Element 03 as a new layer, resize 75%, place in position and apply a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 20 then repeat the drop shadow.

Paste Frame 01 as a new layer, resize 60% and place in position.   Click anywhere on your canvas outside of the frame to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 5.  Make a new layer below the frame, copy paper 6 and paste it into the selection.   Paste your tube as a new layer and resizing as needed, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.    Apply the same drop shadow to the frame as you did on the moon and apply the regular one to the tube.  I resized my tube 85%.

Paste Element 16 as a new layer, resize 70%, drag down to just above the moon and place in position.

Paste Element 14 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 15 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 13 as a new layer, resize 60% and rotate 40 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 10 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 11 as a new layer, resize 45% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 04 as a new layer, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 05 as a new layer, resize 35% and position on the left, duplicate.  Resize the duplicate 80%, rotate it 90 degrees to the right and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Element 07 as a new layer, resize 65% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste Element 08 as a new layer, resize 70% and position just above element 16 and duplicate it.  Drag the duplicate up above the frame, mirror it, resize it 80%, position below the cross and erase a bit of the top part of the cross so the flame comes through it.  Duplicate the smaller flame again and move over more to the left, duplicate again, mirror and position on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to all the flame layers.

When you are all done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
