About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the layered tube “Impatience”
from pack 56 from
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

I used the mini kit Kiss #3 by
Kiss stands for “Keeping it Simple Supplies”
and is a new range of mini kits that also include
an open layered tag with shadows for you to just add your
favourite tube.
You can find the kit at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 84 by

Script font of choice.

Please be sure to check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy Element 27, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste it into the selection, deselect, flip vertical and apply the mask.

Paste Element 25 as a new layer, resize 65% and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 24 as a new layer, resize 65% and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 19 as a new layer, resize 55% and move up a little.  Paste Element 20 as a new layer, resize also 55%, drag below the frame and place in position.

Paste your tube as a new layer or the close up if you have one,  position in the frame resizing as needed, select the interior of each part of the frame and expand the selection by 5, invert it and hit delete to remove the excess tube, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tube to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame, close off all your layers apart from the tube, the frame and Element 20 and merge visible, re-open your closed layers.  I used the close up resized 80%.

Paste your main tube as a new layer on the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized this tube 65%.

Paste Element 12 as a new layer, resize 90% and mirror, drag below the merged layer, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Paste Element 8b as a new layer, resize 80%, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Paste Element 21 as a new layer, drag above the merged layer, resize 45%,  place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 14 as a new layer, resize 70% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 18 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Elements 5 and 6 as new layers,  resize each one 80%, duplicating and mirroring some of the copies, arrange them around the tube and apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Paste one of the roses as a new layer, resize 60%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, position amongst the flowers and apply the drop shadow to each.   I put both of mine behind the tube.

Paste Element 7 as a new layer,  resize 70%, duplicate twice and mirror one copy, again position amongst the flowers and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Element 10 as a new layer, resize 60% and duplicate position in the flowers erasing any that overlap with the join hidden by the flowers and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Element 2 as a new layer on the top, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 3 as a new layer, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 1 as a new layer, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments, when you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
