About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the fabulous layered tube “Impatience”
from the latest pack 56 by
Barbara Jensen.
You can purchase the tube at

The kit is called “Memories” and is by
This awesome kit has some beautiful elements and
goes so will with this tube.
The kit can also be purchased at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 28 by

I used the font

If this is the first of my tutorials you have followed, please check out my “About my tutorials” page before you start, thank you.

Unless noted, I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy paper 3, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste element 20 as a new layer, resize 70% and move up a little.  Apply the drop shadow  but with the opacity set to 65 then repeat the drop shadow with the same opacity but the horizontal set to -5.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, drag below the merged layer and duplicate.  Using my tag as   reference, line the two copies up so they overlap slightly, merge the top one down onto the bottom one and apply the two drop shadows that you used on element 20.

Paste your tube as a new layer on the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 70% (remember to change the settings).

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 45%, rotate 30 degrees to the left and mirror.  Drag below the tube, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Paste element 7 as a new layer, resize 30% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6 as a new layer, resize 35% and position just to the right of the tube.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and resize it 80%, position to the left of the tube.  Duplicate the original copy again, resize it 70% and rotate it 90 degrees to the left, position further over on the right.  Apply the drop shadow to each layer.

Paste element 4 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 15 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 as a new layer,  resize 55% and mirror, position on the right and apply the drop shadow, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Paste element 23 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25 as a new layer, resize 45% and mirror, drag below the flowers, position on the right and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  I resized my mask a little as it looked a bit small.  When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
