About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

You can purchase the tube at

I used a kit called “It’s a Spring Thing” by
You can purchase this beautiful kit at

You will also need a mask, I used mask 69 by Simone at

I used the font

If this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, please check out my “About my tutorials” page before you get going, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 2, opacity 65, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 600 pixels and fill with white.

Copy Paper_9, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste Frame_2 as a new layer and resize 55%.  Select the interior of each part with your magic wand, expand the selection by 15 and make a new layer below the frame, copy Paper_3 and paste it into the selection, deselect.  We will come back to this.

Paste Spray_3 as a new layer, resize 60% and flip, drag below the frame and paper layers and position on the right of the frame, duplicate and move the duplicate over to the left.

Paste Element_71 as a new layer, resize 65% and position on the left, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and move over to the right.  Apply the drop shadow to both copies.

Paste Element_30 as a new layer and resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the right.  Position above the fence on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position below the fence on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste Element_3b as a new layer, resize 60% and rotate 50 degrees to the left, place in position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste your tube as a new layer and bring to the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 40%.

Paste your tube again, drag it below the frame and place in position in the left section resizing as needed.  Duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the right.  Select the interior of each section of the frame, expand as before, invert and hit delete on the tubes to remove the excess, deselect.  Change the blend mode on the tubes to “Overlay” and apply the drop shadow to the frame.

Paste Element_54 as a new layer just below the main tube, resize 55% and position on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left.

Paste Element_68 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element_15 as a new layer, resize 50%, position on the right, duplicate mirror the duplicate and position on the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each copy.

Paste Element_55 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Pate Element_29 as a new layer, resize 30%, mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element_42 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element_57 as a new layer, resize 60% and rotate 90 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element_25 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element_14 as a new layer, resize 33%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any necessary adjustments.  Check the spray layer on a dark coloured background if you are going to be saving your tag as png as it is part white that you can’t see on a white background.

Paste Element_60 as a new layer, resize 40% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place both copies into position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Element_26 as a new layer, resize 35% and duplicate, place both copies into position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Element_74 as a new layer, resize 35% and duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place both copies into position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste Wordart_1 as a new layer, resize 85%, rotate 90 degrees to the right and place in position.  Apply a white gradient glow if you have Eye Candy otherwise apply a white shadow with vertical and horizontal set to 0, opacity to 100 and blur to 15. You will need to apply the white shadow a few times.

When are done, crop your tag if it needs it, then add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
