About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the art of Enamorte.
You need a license to use Enamorte’s art, available at

I used a kit called “Cimmerian Shade” by
This is an awesome kit with many more elements than I have used,
I loved it!
You will find the kit at
and also under Guest Designers at

You will also need mask 79 by

I used the font

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed.

I used a drop shadow of vertical and horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open Vaybs mask and rotate it left.

Open a new transparent canvas 650 by 650 pixels and fill with white.

Copy Paper 13, make a new layer on your canvas, select all, paste the paper into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.  Lower the opacity to around 80.

Open Paper 11, undo the rotate on Vaybs mask and apply it to this paper twice, resize it 60% and paste onto your canvas, position top, left on the first mask.

Paste Element 17 as a new layer, resize 80% and move into position.  Select the interior of the element with your magic wand, expand the selection by 20 and make a new layer below it.  Copy Paper 7 and paste it into the selection.  Paste your tube or close up as a new layer, resize as needed and position in the element, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess, deselect.  Apply the drop shadow to the frame and tube and change the blend mode on the tube to “Difference”.  I used the close up resized 70%.

Paste element 50 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I did some re-colouring this element.

Paste your main tube as a new layer, resize as needed, place roughly in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized this tube also 70%.

Paste Element 12 as a new layer, resize 70%, drag down so it’s just above the two masks, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 54 as a new layer and drag up to just below the main tube, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 72 as a new layer, resize 70% , drag below the path and position on the left of the main tube, duplicate, drag the duplicate down to just above the masks and position so a little shows on the right, apply the drop shadow to both layers.

Paste Element 18 as a new layer making sure it’s just below the path, resize 55%, position the left of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 57 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 20 as a new layer, drag above the path,  resize 55% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, position on the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 14 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 56 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 21 as a new layer, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 75 as a new layer, resize 50% and duplicate.  Flip one copy and position it on the right, resize the other copy 90% and position on the left, apply the drop shadow to each.  I re-coloured this element also.

Paste Element 35 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 38 as a new layer, resize 75%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 16 as a new layer, resize 35%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 1 as a new layer, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 49 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check the positions of your layers now and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste Element 4 as a new layer and place in position.

Paste Element 5 as a new layer,  position just above the path, erase any that show on top of the path and skulls on the left hand side and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 25 as a new layer on the top, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 63 as a new layer resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste Element 40 as new  layer, resize 20%, place in position on the book and apply the drop shadow.

Crop your tag and add your copyright information and text.  Duplicate item 40, the spider, mirror it and position on the text.

When you are done, export your tag on a transparent background as a png.
